Devices Application:
• Surge protection devices (SPDs) are suitable for the TN-S power
supply system of 50/60Hz
• Suitable for three phase application
• Protecting them from direct and indirect lightning impulse and
other transient overvoltage.
Installation:
• The type 2 arresters must install into sub-distribution boards
after main distribution boards containing type 1 arresters.
• For proper operation between type 1 and type 2 arresters at least
10- 15 m cable or wire must be otherwise a decoupling coil have to
install between the two devices.
• Multiple surge diverters installed in a cascaded approach should
be used to ensure adequate protection of the facility.

The surge protection device (SPD) is an electronic device that
provides a protection for electrical equipment, communication
network etc. from the effect of surges. When a current spike or
voltage surge suddenly occurs in an electrical circuit or a
communication line due to external interference, the SPD can
